On April 25, 2020 we hosted our first Popcorn Parade and were stunned by the response — cars were lined up for blocks and it was all we could do to keep up with the orders! Luckily, we had great volunteers helping with our curbside service: Claudia Marken, Sharon Riels, and Skagit County Deputy Terry Esskew all pitched in! Our second Popcorn Parade was May 9 and attracted an even larger crowd — including a couple who drove all the way from Tacoma after seeing the event on Q13 News. That event was a fundraiser for our new project (Act One Ice Cream Shoppe and lobby expansion) and we were super appreciative. Bottom Line: Hot, fresh popcorn — with 14 pounds of butter — seems to make a lot of people happy.
